Torrent wont download with vpn

Why would that be indicated, anyway? The VPN was working previously on this computer, it is still working on another computer, and I can't find any posts indicating that others are having trouble with this VPN on Windows 7. Given the timing of the problem relative to malware problems, doesn't it seem more likely that the problem is in network configuration, permissions, or something else on this particular computer?

This says ask your vpn provider to me. As noted by item 6 in the original post, I don't have any problem uploading and downloading torrents through that same VPN from an XP computer on the same network. Start new topic. Recommended Posts. Freonpsandoz Posted February 14, Most torrent clients have a built-in encryption option designed to help circumvent throttling. But your settings are too strict, you might be reducing your number of available peers.

Or just disable protocol encryption altogether. You should be getting your secure encryption from a VPN anyway. Sometimes your torrent client will accidentally be set to use a listening port that is blocked or in use by another program. Port forwarding errors used to cause so many problems for me. All traffic on the listen port needs to be forwarded to the device running your torrent client. Typically we recommend using a VPN instead of a proxy for the encryption.

Others prefer the one-time setup with no extra software required. The setup process can be a bit tricky, and in some cases could lead to torrents not downloading at all. Try setting it up from scratch again. You may need to open the port manually port for many services. However, many users report problems while downloading, such as uTorrent not connecting to peers or not downloading issues.

Downloading copyrighted shows, movies and music is illegal , and can attract significant penalties. All the major studios actively track the IP addresses of the computers illegally downloading their works. They then contact the associated internet service providers ISPs and get them to trace that IP address back to you. In many countries, ISPs are legally obligated to tell the studios who you are.

Note: Some VPN services are free but, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Firstly, you need to make sure your Windows Firewall or anti-virus app is not blocking your uTorrent. Although the uTorrent setup wizard will automatically add an exception for uTorrent in Windows Firewall, sometimes this will fail due to your third-party antivirus settings.

If your antivirus app is doing an excellent job, it may take over control over your Windows Firewall and block your uTorrent, thus causing uTorrent not downloading issues. If your uTorrent is stuck on connecting to peers , it can be a temporary stale download caused by outdated seeders or trackers. This will immediately check for more peers. Then navigate to the uTorrent folder and delete the file named resume.
